Welcome to The SUNDOWNER

Are you looking for a cozy log cabin to rent in the Smoky Mountains? The Sundowner is just the place! It's conveniently located close to Maggie Valley, Waynesville, Asheville, Cherokee and many other places. With it's long range views and silent, starry nights, you'll find peace and solitude you'll want to return to year after year.

Our cabin sleeps 6 people comfortably but can accomodate up to 8. The master bedroom has a new upgraded foam queen size bed with an adjoining bathroom. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. One bedroom has 2 twin beds and the other has a queen size bed. There is also a spare queen mattress that will fit along side the existing one in the third bedroom, thereby sleeping an additional 2 people.

The kitchen comes equipped with everything you need including all dishes, pots, pans, coffee maker, toaster, toaster oven, mini food processor, hand mixer, dishwasher, garbage disposal and more.

Though relaxing and cozy, you won't have to be without the conveniences you are used to enjoying. You'll find Direct TV, DSL high speed internet, telephone for local calls, CD, DVD and VCR players along with 3 TVs. There's a remote controlled gas fireplace for those chilly nights, a washer and dryer and central heat & AC.

You will find one of your favorite ways to relax is to dine on the outdoor deck that surrounds the front of the cabin. There's a table and a gas grill for your use.

A great feature of the Sundowner is its location. While it may seem out of the way the first time you visit because of the climb up the mountain, there are surprises all around it. At the bottom of the mountain, only a 25 minute walk from the cabin, there are donkeys just waiting to be fed. There are 3 there right now and they loved to be pet, fed, and brushed. There's no need to drive to a petting zoo when you have them!

Another surprise waiting for you are the hiking trails that are accessible on foot just outside of the cabin. Just walking the streets in the community of Cataloochee Moutain Estates where the cabin is located, is great exercise for anyone who enjoys a challenging walk or hike. Even if you never leave the cabin, you'll be sure to have a wonderful vacation.
